There's a feeder 150 yards or so below the house. I'm keeping an eye on it while doing some other stuff around here. Does that count? cool

Truth be told, an Irish Elk might be safe from me this evening. Cold, windy and wet...but thank the Lord for the precipitation.

I'd shoot a hog or a coyote, though. Some things even weather doesn't interfere with...

Good luck this afternoon, it’s been raining buckets here. I’ve killed some of my biggest deer in the rain so you never know what’s going to step out.

I saw a coyote sneaking through the pasture a few minutes ago in the rain. When I grabbed a rifle and opened the door my blue heeler ran over me and alerted him. By the time I got the scope on him he was running off into the creek bottom. Bad dog.

One shot is all it should take.

We didn't have standing water this morning. It's been coming down all day.

I don't know about hunting, but I was trying to do some sniping. laugh 'Just walked back to the house from the closest blind. When I got there, the blind had blown over from yesterday's wind. The good news is, it's a double-wide "Blynd" and I just tipped it back over and there was no damage. grin

Sleety rain and starting to get down-right bitter. Watched a beautiful 8 I've watched before, but I just can't bring myself to shoot him. "Hook Brow" I call him 'cause his brow tines hook forward. Also saw something I'd never seen before, a big bruiser axis buck (short, velvet horns right now) come running in with the WT does when the feeder went off. And he hung out the whole time.

We should wake up to snow in the morning. 'Believe I'll take the pickup out, if I go out in the morning. sleep2

I watched a few whitetail at the feeder. A friend hunting on the other side of the pasture shot a hog that ran off. He called hoping that I would go help. I was heading back to a warm cabin, and I was not going to look for a hog.

Blue Lacy woke me up at 4am; 'couldn't go back to sleep, so decided to get up and get ready to go out. Reorganizing my pack I saw a flash that looked just like lightning. And then the rain started, so here I am on here, trying to decide whether it's worth it. 31 degrees. We should have a very nice coating of ice on everything today. Happy Hunting! Nobody fall and break their coccyx. grin

I'm happy to let you keep that frozen stuff up there!

Supposed to clear off here later this morning, and cool down even more.

My brother and nephew are coming in for an end of season hunt tomorrow. Might make for lots of deer moving for them.

In the blind. Ice-rain now. Glad the stairs are grip-strut. I looked like the robbers in Home Alone going up them. If it's okay with you guys, I'm only opening the south-facing window. grin

Not sure the 4WD is working on the Bronco. 'Could be a long walk back to the comforts of home and the Mrs.

In a tower blind in Duval Co. raining like hell thunder and lightning and strong wind. Probably most worried I’ve ever been about a tornado or getting g struck by lightning in a deer stand, but amazingly have had deer since we could see. When it lays hope it’s good up

Boar down. 'Course, they won't get up and run off when you want them to. bang

Oh well, confirmed dead pig #50 for the ranch.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's what I'm talkin' about...I might not shoot a deer or turkey in nasty weather, but hogs and coyotes are ALWAYS gonna get it.

To quote Red-Legs Terrell in "The Outlaw Josey Wales": "Doin' right ain't got no end..."

Of course, it IS helpful when they haul themselves off!
