I got one for Christmas as well. We cook taquitos, frozen chicken nuggets, cheese sticks, frozen fries, bacon, some of the other frozen things we’ve found in the food isle. It’s great when my son says he wants chicken nuggies and French fries. Throw them in for a couple minutes and they come out perfect.

We are planning to try the air fryer for everything, in this new method of cooking . Our daughter swears it is the best appliance ever invented, and has so many great recipes for it.. We usually do frozen fries or tater tots, tonight I used the tumbler and frozen. If you can find these, so much better than Ore-Ida. I like fresh ones for bakers, fryers, or hash browns at home, since I can get them for $10/50 pound box. In the motor home, these are a life saver - just add boiling water, wait 5 minutes and fully re-constituted and fry up like fresh!!! They keep for years and are good well beyond the date! Miles Willard here in Idaho Falls was a world-renowned inventor of all things potato; you have him to thank for potato chips, hash browns, potato flakes, etc. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-22567-272172-0ebdbd7d_419e_4f01_ba18_1e1f41867bc8.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-22567-272173-3c9e6560_1cc0_4877_8676_cd8ba4398185.jpeg)

It’s great when my son says he wants chicken nuggies and French fries. Throw them in for a couple minutes and they come out perfect. Heck yeah. We raided the frozen aisle at Costco yesterday and picked up some mini tacos, pizza rolls, and chicken nugs for our daughter. Pizza rolls were ready in 10 minutes and perfect - the 5yr old said they were “the best pizza rolls” she’s ever had haha.

I was thinking about one of these and found this thread...
Can you cook fresh cut tater fries?
When ya'll are cooking chicken, is it flour battered or ?
Can you also cook fresh battered shrimp and say catfish fillets?
I can't quite wrap my head around this idea of not using grease. Most of the examples you see talked about, particularly all the frozen stuff, you can put in the oven anyway. I'm most interested in the things you would typically cook up and fry the old fashioned way.
Thanks Charlie

The problem is if you are used to using runny batter for the items you deep fry. If you want it like tempura or buttermilk batter, then no. I am still experimenting, but get a little closer all the time. Two ways to have a little success is to make the batter really thick, then do a final dredge in flour to kinda set it up dry. The other way I found was to dredge in lighter batter, and refrigerate for 30 minutes, then use your dry mix like Louisiana Fish Fry

They are awesome for reheating left over fish and pizza, much better than a micro wave.

Yes, while microwaves get things reheated, it's from the inside out. I'd rather use a toaster oven or air fryer to get the outside crispy again, and the inside just warm and moist!!!

Pork chops and marinated chicken breast, I spray a small amt of olive oil them. Salmon steaks are good also.

My in-laws got a Cuisinart TOA-60 months ago. My son got a Ninja Foodie months back as well. They both use them all the time.
My wife and I talked about this subject this week. One of these is coming soon.
