About 3 am I got up to pee (it’s a lifetime thing...I pee at 3), and I wandered to the front window. In the moonlight and dim light of a security light, I could see a doe that had apparently been bumping my squirrel proof bird feeder and eating seeds. Not the first time for that. But as she walked off, her fawn (about 2/3 grown, or less) went to the squirrel feeder. Not tall enough to just bump it with all hooves down, it had to get on hind legs, and could just barely, if all went well, bump the seed feeder with its nose. But things weren’t going well for it, as it couldn’t stay upright without wobbling, and it was having a real tough time actually bumping the seed feeder. Wasn’t having much luck at all. But then the little one did get a good bump in, and of course its nose and eyes were pointing straight up, so it looked like a lot of tiny seeds went in its nose and eyes. It dropped back to the ground and shoot its head and looked to be blowing its nose, though I couldn’t hear. Then it gave up and wandered off. Fun to watch...life in the country...

We used to have the deer empty the bird feeders like that. Recently fenced off backyard, and got the wife an AllSeasons bird feeder for Christmas. Now waiting for birds, and squirrels.

I use PVC pipe for my home made front yard bird feeders. Cams show hogs bumping the feeders to get the seed out. So I hung them higher. Now its squirrels and coons.

Have had deer do the same thing.
Had a few "tame" deer that would walk past corn to eat floating fish food we used in or fish ponds back when.

Yep, tried to put out some bird feeders outside a nursing home to give the residents something to watch. Took about 2 weeks before the deer found them and started emptying them every night.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

I have a doe that camps out near the house waiting on the feeder to be re-filled.
Kinda hard to get mad at her. The cats like laying on the window sill watching her. One cat crises watching her.
