You must have better trail cams than mine... Set one up, went back switched SD card over 2,000 pic's... wind blowing tall grass , had ta reset it... agree with the high price of meat, have mentioned that in several threads.. Rising prices of leases, then put in food plots, the corn, public land way cheaper... Do it yourself hunts, too many games played on leases... We always did our own preperation... Best wish's on hunts...

Yeah the trailcams are the cheap ones from Wally World($28). That way it doesn't hurt as bad if one gets stolen.Although I haven't had a pic of a human on trailcam this season.

have put trail cam's out on OSBWMA never had pic's of hunters... Think i have 7 of the walmart $28.00 cans, took black marker & camo them. Bought two of the ones ($38.00) camo on sale for $28.00. one was a defect.. Bought few other (cam's) brands on sale... Not alot of woods around here, just groves, around the farm places. Places we have permission, also let the slug /muzzle loader hunts... We do the archery, & pretty much dont hunt during that time... One of the many pic's, some they are facing trail cam's... They leave em a lone... We have several area's we can hunt, so depends on weather, & mix it up, so not ta over hunt... Winter here been mild, lots of deer take threw slug/muzzleloader season... Here it's more about pudding food on the & every year it amazes me, as hard as they hunted, & the little bit of hiding, (woods) big bucks survive... Specaily with the in-line capable of reaching out (200yrds)... Seeing more & more stands put up like on the leases in ... Best wish's swampthang on your hunts, may they be filled with awesome memorries...

Them boots dont look very warm that ol' boy is wearing. I thought you yankees knew how to dress for the cold? It was 28 degress the other day when I headed into the woods. My toes were like icicles when I left, need to upgrade my boots as well.

Swampthang: You need some better boots. I spend Nov-March in my Muck boots (Arctic Sport), all below freezing. If it drops below 0, I switch to my Muck Arctic Pro which are good down to -60!!!!! Nothing ends a hunt faster than cold feet.

agree with ya swampthang good boots/socks are a vital roll in keeping warm in cold weather.. As mentioned in OP " we just need the ice... We have been have unusually warm weather... Lakes here have been open till this last light dusting of ❄ snow.. The hunter is doing a muzzleloader hunt, here we have party hunts, dont make diff who shoots, just as long as thar an open tag... He could be a (pusher/driver) getting deer ta move towards (poster's)... Also NO snow on ground.. Pic not the best.. temps around freezing, doesnt have date it was taken... & he tis dressed warm... Wind play's big factor in temps here.. These are the boots i wore this morning... plus good socks.. For ice 🎣ing, your @ times standin on ice, we lay cardboard or carpet down, & even with heater your feet can get cold... i use a different pair boots... Hunting hogs OSBWMA winter times, & wading threw water, wore garage sale tennies.. Often used pvc pipe glue & ducktape ta hold em tagether... Grew up walken ta school in cowboy boots, & windbreaker in winter... as long as kept moving stayed warm.. Conditioned myself ta the cold weather, the warm weather tore my equator up... Every one temperature gauge tis differant... Best wish's...

I guess I'm gonna need 2 pair of boots, one for when temps are above 40 deg and one for when temps are predicted to be below 40 deg. I just hate to spend a bunch of money on heavily insulated boots when I will only use them a few times per year. I been dropping a couple of those "Hot Hands" packets into the toes of my boots before I put them on,it works but it's kind of a pain in the butt.

Was down to OSB this morning in the rain. Had good boots and good rainsuit but cheap gloves. Hands got cold and wet, had to cut it short.

That's why i helped out @ public land (WMA's) ... Low-income worker... it costs gas, time, effort, guns, @ ammo... Look @ leasing... what's the price these days... it got too expensive... Twas a Blessing whin the WMA opened up down the road... Tis NOT an execative hunt... Any one been doing any hog hunts ?
