🦌 Deer season winding down...
Be eating me some tag soup, any good reciepies ?

They sell deer supplements @ stores... Its illegal ta bait, set up over
baited sights... Have used a few supplements for deer, before season,
Put out for trail cams...

Basically looking for something ta put out after season, winters here are little tougher.
Giving back, looking for something that will help get deer threw te rough months.
It's been pretty mild winter so far...
most lakes cant even do any ice 🎣ing on.. 4" tis thick with area's only 1" thick...
Jan - Feb & beginning of March are usualy worst of it...
Had put some "Big J" something like that, out before season cams set up... Got rained on, looked mildew...
Majority of crops are put up.. Just looking for something ta put out ta benefits the deer,
& see what has made it threw season..
Any idea's be apreciated...

Alfalfa

bad winters farmers will put out alfalfa ta help the heards...
Food gets scarce, the get in deer yards, safety in #'ers against preditors..
Yotes can run, maneuver with the fat paws. Copaired ta the hooves of deer.
Also it packs down snow, easier ta get in forage covered in snow...
hadn't thought about the alfalfa...
Was wondering, thoughts on some of the store bought bocks... My eyes are getting bad, trying read the fine print... hate wearing glasses...

it's not illegal ta put food out, just Not during hunting season & hunt over it...
Like on public land in it's illegal ta bait....

👍 Texas452, ya can see em first & last hours (minnutes) of day in corn fields looking for any corn left behind by farmers.. Kinda looken @ different variety, like the alfalfa...
Was wondering if any one had decent luck with any of the blick feeders seen @ walmart...
Any info of the better ones..

supose could get on internet & check it out... Figured some of the ones feeding for trophy racks might have some tips better products... Can do some research meself i guess..

edit : did quick research on net, (google), while corn doesnt have lots protien it has plenty carbohydrates, which they need in the cold winters...

Rather than the small deer blocks you see at a sporting goods or walmart I use the big tubs of a molasis blend protein tubs that are for cattle or goats. The deer will also use them. Supposedly helps the digestion of dry feed. But I still believe for the money alfalfa is the best.

don k thought about the molasses, most places we walking ta areas..
Have ta be an awful small tub...
