Whammer, serious question--did the WMAA say that yall had 1 deer to every 2.1 acres or that you should kill a deer for every 2.1 acres?

Quail season is 4 months long, still have 2 months to go. Hope I’ve still got a couple healthy dogs at the end of the season.

All 5 tags used. Will go back and hunt pigs, turkey, axis, and aoudad if daughter wants to hunt.

On 42 acres? If you really want to practice responsible game management based on likely carrying capacity, you should probably take a buck every 2-3 years. Otherwise your'e whacking the neighbors deer like crazy. Just my .02...

Had very few shooters this year on camera. However had more deer this year than in the last 9. Had 25 under feeder one archery morning. Usually a max o 7 or 8.

I knew the large number of does would attract shooters during rut. My wife and I took our Bucks Thanksgiving week. As 2 deer is all we need for consumption we ended our season. Had hoped my grand kids would have come down however that didn't work out, Now I'm concerned the large number and dry conditions will not foster a good carry over. I'll implement an expanded winter feeding for now

Still got a doe tag to fill. Like to get another 100# sow for sausage - prefer to get them when it is colder. Regardless, we will be at camp next week!

I'm done out of freezer space. Son and some of his friends and me are going axis doe hunting in June.

Still have 3 MLD doe tags to fill. Need the does to come out of hiding.

I still have one more tag. I will be out next weekend, if a doe looks good she just might top off my freezer space.
I have plenty of chances for exotics in the off-season, so I am not too worried about having plenty of venison.

Never done hunting here. Maybe not looking to shoot a deer but the guns never get put up. I have a feeder in a 15 acre wheat field 250 yards off the back porch. No matter how many hogs I shoot more show up, it's a year round deal.

twas buck only county, we couldn't get doe tag's... not enough
deer, twas told... So kept (deer) food plot & feeder down by creek...Put up trail cams, & kept the hogs out...
Did the archery deer/hog hunt @ OSBWMA... Plenty of hogs...
it finaly went 4deer county... could have taken 4 deer legally..

bow in hand & took a stand down @ OSBWMA...

What county?

You need to read some articles regarding deer management principles. You won’t have any deer left if you guys don’t cut back to one per year. Unless you are bordering huge ranches that don’t harvest anything, that is an unsustainable way to hunt.

I need a buck or two does before I'm done

For this year yes. Prostate removal surgery earlier this month took care of that.

Could have shot a buck Sunday. He made the AR but at the end of the day he was young. Just did not feel skinning out and deboning a tiny deer.

Not saying I'm done, as I plan on doing some duck hunting, but may make a muzzleloader hunt. Not sure.

Went sat on public land... It has (one of the rare) corn fields very few tracks in the grove of trees.
& even less tracks going in or out of corn...
Did see few deer in a grove driving thar... trouble tis they face direction of entering...
