Being on the Colorado River we get different exotics coming through. Mostly Axis. Last time headed in to the lease I saw 2 animals after last cattle guard. There was a herd of Blackbuck on the property at one time but have not seen them for 2 years. At first I thought that is what I saw then I noticed the buck was not bounding like an antelope. The buck took off like shot out of a rocket so I did not get a good look at antlers. The doe stopped at pond not far from truck. At first I thought fallow but probably not. [Linked Image]

Tail looks more like a fallow than a whitetail to me.

It is a whitetail fawn. Probably a yearling that came in late heat hence the buck hanging around.

Agree with superduty, but this was fun. Just when we needed a nice little game.

That would be my guess. I tried to get a closer picture but it dropped over pond dam too quick.

Based on this picture. We have settled on fallow. We have seen fallows once about 4 miles to the west near river. [Linked Image]
