Looking for a place to eat Monday on 281 between Cleburne and Lampasass. Not bbq got that covered the next day in Llano. Thought about the Koffee Kupp but it’s getting mixed reviews.

When south going thru Stephenville, at the major intersection before you get to Hard 8, there is a Mexican food joint on the left across the intersection.

Original Coopers is A+ The one down here in New Braunfels is good but not as good as the original.
If by somehow you get lost and come down south to far Blue Bonnet cafe in Marble Falls.

When south going thru Stephenville, at the major intersection before you get to Hard 8, there is a Mexican food joint on the left across the intersection. That is Pulidos. Ate there all the time in high school. I haven't had it in 10 years. You looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

I usually just stop at Bush's chicken in Hamilton or south side of Lampasas. I have been tempted to try the Mexican place in Hico but normally just looking for something quick. I have eaten breakfast twice at Koffee Kup and it is fine but it was cash only when I ate there. I have never eaten at Dutchman but they have some great fudge and candy. You might try the bistro south of the last light in Hamilton. I have never eaten there but seems to be pretty popular.

fairly new spot in Lampasas right on 281 north side of town, west side of 281 close to Hoffpauir Ranch supply. Bill's Burgers, Wings and things. They have another location in Burnet (original location) on hwy 29 just west of 281 intersection. They make great burgers, handcut fries and onion rings.
There is also a good German food place downtown Lampasas on the north side of the square.
as far as BBQ in Llano, I much prefer Inman's Country Kitchen brisket about 1/4 west of Cooper's in the old Ramblin Rose building on the north side. Just too much hype with Coopers other than their thick chop (pork chop).

Glad you got BBQ covered 'cause Hard 8 in Stephenville sux. I haven't been successful in finding a place. I agree.... They suck. I don`t know how you are to go from Cleburne to Lampasas on 281 thru Stephenville though. Pulido`s in Stephenville has good food though if you do .

If passing thru Stephenville you may want to check out the Los Arcos Restaurant, used to be known as Castillo's Rio Grande Cafe. Further south, there is a good Italian place in Hico called Giovanni's, and if you continue to the juncture of 281 and 220, there is a taco stand that serves excellent Mexican food. Further south in Hamilton, El Jardin has good food. Koffee Kup has good burgers and Lily's had decent lunch specials, both in Hico. If you like chocolate make sue to stop at the Wiseman House chocolate emporium.
