Sounds like his boat floated away from the dock, he put down his phone, keys, and wallet and swam after it maybe?

Hope he's ok.

Maybe an afternoon shoot and just accidently left his blind bag at the ramp? IDK! Either way, hope they are ok.

Doubt that, hunting ends at 12pm on that lake, no afternoon hunting

Shooting hours end at noon on Tawakoni.

Doesn't say which end of 2 mile. Odd place to launch - that's a long run if headed to a spot from the E side and there are closer more convenient ramps on the W side.

Been listening to TPWD, LEOs and a helicopter unit on my scanner for a while.
Found the boat up in Walnut cove, no hunter around it.

Very odd place for the boat to be, he had to drive it there because the wind is out of the north and no way the boat would get there on its own from that ramp.

There was a update saying it was found by Holiday Marina on a page ? No telling. Like mentioned , if it is indeed found at Walnut Cove he would have had to drive there. Horrible deal no matter where his boat was found.

New update says the boat was found by Holiday Marina. There was a post on Facebook from a family member saying he was hunting up near Wind Point (makes sense on launch location). Boat , Kayak , decoys and Gun wear all in the boat and motor was trimmed up. Also says(from a family member that found the belongings) a shirt, wallet, keys and waders were found at the ramp. Almost as if the boat drifted away from ramp and the gentleman stripped his belongings to retrieve boat. Just my thoughts. Sad deal and can happen to quick.

This is all from my readings on some post of a local fire department Facebook page. So if it is wrong I do apologize

Ken

Whatever the case, I will be praying for this gentleman.

Sounds like when he unloaded the boat this morning it drifted off. He parked the truck - left his stuff on the dock - and swam for it. Long ways down the lake but N wind would push it there. Or could have happened when he was coming in load up.

Odd circumstances. Hopefully he's found safe and unharmed.

Not really that odd. I am going to guess that he never made it to his hunt yesterday morning. From everything I've heard and read - and what was found on the dock - it sounds more like when he unloaded in the early morning - the boat somehow drifted off and he decided to swim for it. Tawakoni was in the low-50s LAST week when it was much warmer - it's probably in the mid 40s this week. So realistically - with the clothing found on the dock he was looking at 15-30 mins tops before exhaustion/unconsciousness set in with an ideal scenario - air temp out there was around 30 yesterday morning. I know nothing about the man - but he wasn't a young buck - so that shaves some time off too. Any kind of N wind on Tawakoni is going to push something floating pretty quick...so he really probably didn't have a chance in the dark.

People underestimate how quickly cold water can kill you.

The above is just my opinion based on what I've read. My guess is that whatever happened - happened in the dark before he went hunting. There are people fishing at that ramp/park all day. There is constant traffic over 2-mile - between fisherman and traffic someone would have seen something as it is a clear view of the entire ramp/park coming over the bridge.

Very sad.

Cold water can get you pretty quick, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to end well at this point but I pray that I’m wrong.

It's been posted in the media - so I'll ask - we don't have a Robert Ramsey on here who is a University Park PD officer? That is who is missing.
