Anyone give me a close estimate on how long it takes wheat to germinate with 65-70 degree days and 40 degree nights. Moisture is sufficient. Thanks

Usually I see mine starting to pop up after 6-8 days after a rain.

Mine started sprouting 24 hours after the recent rain ended. Probably anxious to get going, though, since it had been in the ground for a month waiting on moisture.

Planted mine in front of this cold a rain, still not up like it would have been if I planted during normal time. Slow start 50% up an inch after 14 days. Oat/wheat mix

When I planted mine in September, it came up pretty in about 7 days, lgot up about 4", then 5 weeks of hot dry weather, lost over half of it. Replanted right before the rain the week of oct 19th, .75", and 1.2" last week and its just now starting to break through. Amazing how much difference the ground temperature makes in the germination.

This warm up after the moisture had really made a difference in my plots, good germination showing, along with decent growth., Now if we can keep a bit of warm temps and get a little more rain on it....

Yep- mine is popping up pretty thick after napping for almost 6 weeks waiting on rain.

That pic of pigs is why I quit planting it.

Yeah but I have most of the hogs around Bowie on my place. Or, it seems like it. I dang sure don't need to plant anything. They're everywhere. One grandson and his girl friend need to kill a deer and it's all over. Then I'll start on pigs. I bet I could do it every day.

Planting was bad this year. Army worms, finally able to plant, no rain for weeks, finally get rain and temps are too low for wheat.

Shame on you for letting them freely eat without repercussions
