Looking for some age guesses on the weight room buck below.... I'm no expert, just never remember seeing a deer so "muscled up". Was curious on yalls thoughts for age and lifting routine. Dates on pic are accurate, this is Archer county. By no means largest rack around, but definitely captain of the football team.

He may not be muscled up as much as fluffed up from being cold.

Funny how there seem to be plenty of mature bucks that don't make the cut in AR counties...

This one may. But some don't.

There are a lot more bucks reaching maturity theses days on both sides since hunters have quit shooting yearling 4 pointers.

Looks like a fluffed up 4.5 year old, I don’t see a post mature buck and with that rack couldn’t imagine him being 5.5. I also have never hunted around that area so ...

That’s at least a 6 year old buck. Neck, head, face, the width of the chest from shoulder to shoulder. He’s as good as he will get.

Hard to tell. Every buck I see this year is a heavy weight.

Hard to tell from those pics but I’m guessing Post mature 7 year old. His best days are gone.

He is fluffed due to another buck some where.

6.5 Probably already started losing mass on rack this year. Will be an old deer with smaller rack next year

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

6/5 and ready for sausage casings if you are not in an AR county. If you are in an AR county, he is gonna be very, very close but I don't think he makes it. In that 2nd pic his outer beams are still just inside the tips of his ears and they are not straight out. I'm betting he is just under 13" IS.

Lot of bucks in South Texas peak at 7 or 8 yrs old when they get above average rainfall in the key months.
I would call this buck post mature from those night pics...he is mature buck at a minimum.

We are getting mature tall narrow deer out of the deal. I have two bucks at my feeder frequently that their tines touch at the top they are so narrow. We did have some big dudes showing as well but that narrow tall trait is starting to show!
