Mountain lions are all over the place now. Because feral hogs are all over the place now.

Looks like our feline friend met his demise. This was posted on the bowhunting forum. Supposedly this is Game Warden Randolph McGee from Fannin county. Cat was killed in the Celeste/Wolfe City area. High probability it was the one spotted in Rowlett and/or Princeton.

I was going to argue that with Rowlett and Celeste being 50 miles apart that this has to be a different cat, but the ineterwebs says that they can have a radius of 10-370 square miles, so it may be possible that this is the same cat.

Umm, mum, mum, yea, I kinda feel bad for that mountain lion pictured above.
Is it too much effort to tranquilize and relocate?

You gonna repay the ranchers for their lost revenue? You gonna hire the vet to come out and dart the cat? You gonna pay him to hunt the cat to dart?

Anybody know the story? Did the game warden shoot it, or someone else?

Anybody know the story? Did the game warden shoot it, or someone else? I'd bet dollars to donuts it was hit by a car. Kinda glad it's gone, north Texas is just too heavily populated to have dangerous critters like that running around.

Well maybe I spoke too soon. Maybe the old dude above did take it out with a firearm. Hope to hear more details.

There is a thread on Lone Star Outdoors page on FB. Guy who shot it, his daughter posted saying he saw it going after his cows.

Anybody know the story? Did the game warden shoot it, or someone else? The news story is it came up to a deer feeder and he popped it. 160 pound male and he's taking it to a taxidermist.

Isn't that a rifle in the right side of the pic? No, but I see one in the left side of the pic.
