I don't know why, I just want to know, and when something like this is posted with no details the first question I think of is HF or LF lol. It doesn't matter, I just want to know. For any others like me the article says fair chase.

Great mass on the deer! She's justifiably excited.

The articles I read don't say, but I'm pretty sure it was HF - article says they've been watching it grow for 3 years........

I just googled 282 inch buck and its the first result. I dont know anything personally about it, nor do I care, other than I wanted to know if it was HF or LF.

It wont surprise me if its low fence, not since its Kansas. Certainly wouldnt surprise me other way either. Ive been following Okla some for awhile and reports of several 220 to 240 kinda deer that I feel are LF. Kansas reputation would say more likely. Giants are among us--hunt often, hunt long, hunt hard, hunt smart and especially cross your fingers a whole bunch.

Just be happy for the gal & don't get so worked up about HF or LF. Her smile is enough to tell the story.

Big wide open country up there. No high fence, some of it has no fences. Deer get big and old. Spent three years in oilfield up there. Saw bigger deer there than Briscoe in South TX A beautiful place if you like wide open country and tornadoes.

Just read it is the biggest buck taken by a female in the world. By everything I’ve seen and read, it’s a free range giant.

Interesting that she is wearing a short sleeve shirt. Must have been a warm day that far north. If I saw something like that from my stand, it wouldn't matter if it was 85 degrees or 15 below! And yes, she is ruined now because anything in the future will look like a cull, but it's a great "problem" to have!!

The article shows September 16, 2020, and says she shot on September 6

Depends on the state. Deer season in parts of Alaska opens the first of August.
