I geared up about 8:30 to search for pigs....damp, but moderate temps, should be able to move in the woods quietly. I stalked down to the river bank and found a nice comfy tree to sit against, waiting for the critters to start moving, hoping for pigs moving along the low bank of the river. I admit I may have been dozing a little .

About 10:00 I realize that a fog moved in that is thicker than anything I have seen in my life! NV is worthless...just an overall glow with no detail. Tried the flashlight without NV...i could barely see the fingers of my outstretched arms. Thermal scope is a little better, but maybe 15 - 20 feet is all I can see well enough with to move around. It took me almost an hour to make it 1/2 mile through the woods back to the cabin. It felt like I was having to push through the air. I could feel the fog particles hitting my face and hands as I walked.

Never seen anything this thick in my life. Not a hint of wind. No sounds in the woods, other than one armadillo.

When I got to the cabin, with the porch light on, I could not see the screen in the storm door as I opened it.

Earlier this year, Pig_Popper were out in the middle of a field looking for downed hogs when the fog rolled in and things got pretty dicey. We had trouble finding where we had left our gear. Had to use GPS to find our way out of a big open field. Fun stuff, NOT!

Was hunting yesterday evening and waited until after dark for pigs.

Pigs came pretty early, and I made my shot, but before I could get out of the ranch the fog rolled in...

That pig was just having a bad day... A bit later, and it would have been eating breakfast this morning. smile

Next couple of days look dicey too, as far as weather, fog, and maybe even a bit of rain.

We got just a smattering of rain yesterday morning out here, but glad to settle the dust. Wind shifted all directions the rest of the day. Clear and still this morning. Walking to the blind in the quiet just now, I heard, 3 times, a cell phone/radio ringing. 'Has to be on this place. Man, I hope I don't have mojados moving through. 'Haven't seen any sign of 'em ever.
