Great pics, ridn9high....I just got a text and pic from Scott Dewitt, (Sappertitan) he shot a monster Mule deer on the Pitchfork this morning.

Went on our annual out of state mule deer hunt on a leftover tag. Wasn’t sure what to expect as it had been very warm and dry leading up to the hunt. Had our fingers crossed that they weren’t going to close down this particular forest due to all the fires breaking out throughout the state. About a week before season, the extended weather forecast was looking promising with 20+ inches of snow expected in the high country. A couple days into the hunt we had plenty of snow and great hunting conditions. With the deer moving to lower elevation in a hurry, we found an area they were using pretty heavily. Thanks to the cold conditions, I was able to tag this buck as he was trailing some does.
