My quarantine ends Thursday and hell or high water all can be assured I will be there. Ain't gonna need no bells & whistles.

Great 8 point!!!

Damn Hud, hope you are feeling ok

I had it about a month ago and was very, very lucky and didn't get down too bad at all.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Running one day and not the next. I think the Granzinator got a lil' excited when he saw the 22 inch 8 point and a 24 inch 11 chasing some poor doe who provocatively shook her tail. I am just glad he was able to get the 8 point without suffering a heart attack.

The rut might not be on now, but will be quickly.

I will be okay. Mild symptoms only. For me , it was a day and a half with a heavy cold.

Hud, Ive been putting off asking you about these names you use. Is "Grazinator" and Klappwhatever and others really peoples names, or nicknames, or secret internet privacy names? Asking for a friend,,,,,,,,FreedomRanger.

I think the quarantine he speaks of is quarantine from the lease thats imposed by wifeypoo or work. He speaks in tongues that only a few are privy too. If hes really sick then I missed that thread.

Life has been overly generous to me & mine. As some can tell, I am an insurance shmuck. Got hired out of a bar when I graduated from SWT in 83. Became responsible for 2/3rds of the income to the firm and for some reason they sold it to me in 1991. Dove season starts in September, we then roll into the County Fair, there's a lil' 10 day salute to sausage event in early November and, of course, deer season occupies the remainder of the year and on into the next. In excess of 60% of my income is earned from January until the end of June. That does not sound so lopsided, but literally means my work "effort" requires 50% more in the first half of the year than the second half.

At 60, I have been around a lil'. I always attempt to compete on the fields where I am strongest and that makes it easier on me. Even so, I often get to contend with younger people wearing a white shirt and a tie, who went to college somewhere, read a book and think they know more than myself. Although some actually do know more, I am far from being the dimmest bulb in the chandelier of insurance agents. The deer lease is my country club. It helps to maintain my sanity in what can be a ridiculously over complicated world. I started dating Wifeypoo when she was 15. Fortunately, she forced me to marry her when I was 22. She understands the feng shui (sp?) of it all and my needs for balance. She is extremely accommodating of my outdoors schedule. She'll head down with me in the off season, but rarely goes down when the blood starts spilling on the ground. Even so, she seldom presents herself as an obstacle when I desire to load up and head South.

I'd be down there right now, but had a cold last Monday, Wifeypoo got headaches and we got tested. Imagine my surprise - positive, but with only mild effects. The CDC imposed ten day quarantine is almost complete. Can't wait. Will hit it hard this weekend, harder & longer the next and pretty sure will be down there from Christmas to or through New Year's. It gets better in January. Most of that January & February renewal work is already done, other hunters aren't down there as much that late in the season which means Klappenbach, Gregor and myself have the roam of the place. The majority of the killing is done by then, but January is GOLDEN.

Our lease is in great shape and I have been watching a particular specimen for four seasons now. He is pretty and primarily stays secluded in my pasture. Another hunter (a very good friend) a mile away got a glimpse of him running yesterday morning, but he could not get off a shot.. It is my sincere and highest hope we can put Klappenbach on this guy. Hoping he remains intact and makes a mistake this weekend. If so, we'll break out the victory snort flask filled with Blantons and I will share photos and a story.

You guys start using your real names when you post and I will use real names when I tell "stories".

700 times longer than your longest post and it took you to the last sentence to answer my question. You are obviously bored being in quarantine. That post is worthy of a thread of its own, Even prior to this Hudbio I would not of thought you would be encumbered by any quarantines imposed by anything other than the CDC but couldnt be sure since your Hudspeak is often over the heads of a common man. Much pleasure is wished on you during your STx rut adventure.

Official green score 153 7/8 - geez - would have been a Holy Grail 8 for me.

Is there not a better pic? He looks 130 in that pic. I dont doubt the score but the pic doesnt show a good representation of the animal. 154 8pt should blow away the viewer.
