If you buy a lifetime license in Texas, then later on you move out of state and make that your residence does the lifetime license still cover you. I ask because non resident license are more expensive.

Yes sir. When I bought mine I was thinking just that. “If I move it’ll be a steal.” I hadn’t realized yet that I wouldn’t ever want to live in a different state. grin

Can you have two different "Resident" state hunting licenses? I guess you can if you have two different residences in different states. i don't know how that would work, too poor to ever thought about it.

The TX license wouldn't be a resident license, it'd be a lifetime license. up

That’s my main questions sure would be nice to get a Texas lifetime license and also a Colorado lifetimes license. Would be much cheaper in the long run.

If you buy a lifetime TX hunting license and then move out of the state it does not matter the lifetime license is still a life time license and you are not required to buy a nonresident license. That was what I was told when I bought mine and I really have no plans to live out side of TX but was still a selling point just in case.

In my experience with lifetime licenses of western states (not Texas's, so I don't know but would ask), is that once you move out of state it is still a lifetime license for that state, but for special tags/permits you have to pay non-resident prices because you are no longer a resident of that state. I learned this from experience and a call from fish and wildlife to correct the issue.

This primarily matters for draw/special permit hunts that have separate tags. Also gets a tad more convoluted if you're a landowner and getting landowner tags. If you aren't doing any of those, then I don't think it matters because your general deer/turkey tags are affixed to your license.

Hmmm, so lifetime license is not a resident license? Did not know that.

You have to be a resident to purchase but not to use.

Correct, I have a lifetime license for Texas and Arkansas and all I have to get every year is a federal duck stamp and HIP registered.
