Around central Texas the processors seemed to be pretty backed up. Basically everyone in the Fredericksburg area has had signs up that their coolers are full and aren't taking deer since opening weekend. I've been able to sneak a few deer in by leaving my coolers but this year seems to be ridiculously busy with everyone hunting more. This happening everywhere else as well?

It’s pretty much everywhere I’ve heard. Other threads on it I think. Friend took one to Hess right now. Fischer closed an Wild Country.

My guy almost stopped drop off's mid november, they said more people were dropping off in october compared to in years past. I got my stuff back in a week n half, my buddy dropped off the weekend after Thanksgiving and was told it will be 3 weeks.

Turn around times for me have still been good at the one processor I've been able to drop off at....Every time I've shown up they have shown as full though. Tried to use a few others in F-burg and they weren't accepting any deer for 1 week+ each time I asked.

So for the folks who don't have the supplies and/or know how to process their own, what are you doing with them when the processors wont take them?

I tried to drop off my buck this AM at Hunter's Creek in Liberty Hill and was turned away, they were packed and freezers full. I'm supposed to go back again tomorrow after 2, so I have my meat on plenty of ice.
