Are these scents for attracting deer, as a cover scent to hide your scent, or both?

My uncle claims that he used to lace a scrape with Ammonia (Yes, that Ammonia) and the deer would come right to it.

Just my .02,

Cigarette smoke, beer and whiskey from the bar the night before (used too)

Don’t forget farts.

I use vanilla. When I put a salt block out in a new location I pour vanilla extract on it.
We did a test by putting out two blocks, one with vanilla and one without, in the same area with similar access to deer. Vanilla block had essentially all the use. Did test in Texas and Arizona.

I like the previous nights whiskey burps, morning fresh DDP burps along with farts.

I'm not sure I saw these on the National Wildlife Research Center studies I will have to double check. If it works for you go for it and much success.

Used to mix peanut butter and molasses and put in a 5 gallon bucket with a few holes drilled in the bottom and hang from a tree. Deer would love to lick the bottom of that bucket as the mixture oozed out.

Reminds of the old garbage can with the mop stick feeders we used for years.
