Anyone here do this annually? It'd be nice to collect several limits.

I've done this for several years...but this year, a lot of the TPWD dove lease lands were only leased for the first split...yep, that's right...the TPWD booklet states that these selected leases are only huntable during the first split of the dove season...so when the migrators arrive for the second split, you are LOCKED OUT of these selected leases...kind of a rip-off if you ask me...

It has been that way on 90% of the places since it began. Very few of them have ever allowed hunting during the winter season.

Correct, there are only a few TPWD sites that allow 2nd split Dove. After looking at it pretty hard last season, and looking again at the booklet this season; there are more available this season than there were last season. But, they are still limited.
A wise man told me don't argue with fools. Folks from a distance can't tell who is who.

Most of the WMA's in South Texas where I'm at are open most of the year. I plan on being out there starting on the 18th!

I sent a letter to Parks and Wildlife a couple of years ago about the lack of opportunities to hunt dove during the second split. I suggest more hunters send letters as well. Maybe the squeaky wheel will finally get some grease.
Luck favors the prepared mind.
