After a frustrating hunting season so far, it feels good to win one. Not a giant, but I was pretty happy with him. TPWD biologist aged him at 5.5. West Texas sunrise for the cherry on top.

Nice Buck!
What rifle, cartridge, and ammunition did you use to take that fine Mule Deer? What range?

I hunt Briscoe too. Was this close to the canyon. Have a nice 10 that showed up in my cam the other day. Seemed like a tough year this season in Briscoe

I hunted Briscoe for the first 30ish years of my life and sure miss it. Spent lots of days climbing all over those canyons.
Nice buck!

With the drought there's not much wheat coming up, so that may be the reason for the slow season. Luckily the land that I hunt had some green on it so I saw plenty of bucks this year. There was a 12pt that I was after, but I was ok with this guy.

Congrats on your muley - great sunrise pic! I was out at the park on an APH draw hunt & saw lots of deer on the surrounding wheat & cotton fields, but just a few back in the canyon country(no shooters).

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
