We all like to post and share pictures of food that we have cooked and are proud of. What is your biggest disappointment in the kitchen that you ended up throwing in the trash.(that your willing to share)

Mine would have to be a Mole I tried making over 20 years ago. I don`t remember why I decided to make it because I have never eaten any, but I did. This was before Youtube or other food network shows that would have been helpful. It was not good and I tossed it in the trash before my wife got home. So unless you grew up eating Mole made by your mother or grandmother who taught you their family recipe............... Order it at an "Authentic Mexican Food" restaurant.

Several years ago I killed a jackrabbit out near Woodson, TX and treated it the same way I did cottontails. Slow cooker, celery, onions, potatoes, etc. It didn't turn out very well. Maybe they're okay with a decent recipe but I haven't felt like trying since... I couldn't finish it.

Another time, more recently, I spent like six hours boiling up a chicken stock out of scraps I had in my fridge. Put my strainer in the sink and proceeded to dump the stock in the strainer. Completely forgot to put the pot under the strainer to catch the stock, and all my hard work went down the sink, leaving me with a strainer of mushy vegetable scraps and chicken bones . There needs to be a name for the shameful call someone makes to the local pizza joint someone makes after ruining dinner.

I’ve never thrown anything in the trash and just choke it down.

Worst one I think was some red wine reduction chicken thighs over cauliflower rice. It was a recipe I found online and decided to try it. Was extremely bland and just not my style of cooking. I like to use a ton of spices when cooking I’d use my entire spice rack if it would taste good.

I decided to stick to the recipe strict and it was just bad. My wife and mother in law liked it, of course i don’t know if they were just saying that or not but I was not happy with it at all.

Baked coon (too greasy).

Jackrabbit (grilled - tuff & nasty).

Large hammerhead shark (nasty).

Big male javalina (bbq’d- first one, didn’t know what I was doing/cleaned & cared for wrong. Learned later in life and I like them now).

I made 10 lbs of snack sticks, overcooked them and didn’t season them very well (spices were old). Imag8ne a Vienna sausage you left on your dash for a week. Choked down about half before tossing the rest.

They really were, and there wasn’t anything you could do to help them! I’ll take my lashes now.

I tried making pork ribs in the oven one time before I got a smoker. Used too much liquid smoke, and they were inedible. GF now wife, went and got Whataburger that night.

The hog I cured and smoked for Thanksgiving. I got up a 2:00 am to start smoking and couldn't wait till it was done. I knew it was going to be the best smoked ham I've ever made. NOPE.

Should have soaked in water before drying and smoking b/c it was way too salty. I didn't trash it b/c I figured I could use in red/white/or pinto beans in leu of salt.

Have to watch that Liquid Smoke. That stuff is strong!!! I switched to the apple for most of my stuff, and only use about half of what they say. I will add more worchestershire if needed.

I can say I’ve never had a wild duck that tasted good. Maybe I need to try some better recipes... every time I try and cook some it’s terrible.
