I finished out the season by finishing projects in POC. We did the kitchen remodel in two stages. The first half was before Tax day flood and Hurricane Harvey. I got aide tracked and finally had enough. There wasn't a whole lot to shoot at other than redheads. It was just my wife and I do I let her decide, fish or shoot redheads. She chose fish. So when we needed a break from the remodel, we just went a couple miles from the house and spanked a few fish. The bite was on but a lot of dinks. We caught enough for supper so that was appreciated. Flight after flight of redheads buzzed us as they went to an evening feed. I just got through with new axles, hubs, tires ect..... all was well until I heard something odd. I looked in my side mirror in time to see my driver side fender 40 plus feet in the air and a three foot piece of tire tread beating the living snot out of anything it could touch. I liken that piece to something no less than Thor's hammer. I for the life of me couldn't imagine a new tire blowing out. With it went the fender, the fender step brackets, the center bracket and the tail light. I went to put the spare on and sitting on the trailer I-beam was a big treble hook with one hook broken off. All I can figure is my tire picked up the hook and flattened tire as we went down the road. I ordered the parts and they were delivered the next day. New tire and back in the saddle ready for the opener. [Linked Image]
