Here's a buck that's interesting to look at. one of the lease members killed him a couple weeks ago. We had tons of trail cam pics, but this was the only quality pic taken just before he was shot. This is in zapata county.

I'll post up pics of the deer on the ground as well as the score later on.

he is an 11 point mainframe and has a small inner point on his right side.

Kyle, know the county well, hunted halfway between Aguilares and San Ygnacio for 35+ years, near the Bruni and East ranches. That deer looks 6yo and about 152" for score. The deer down there carry a lot of body weight which distorts the horn sizes (lengths and mass).

Yeah nice buck for sure.

Getting around 150", but probably a little short on the mass measurements, so could be 152-153" if mass is a little bigger.

here's the ground pics. I had this deer at 149-151 on trail cam pics, and 157 after I saw the on the hoof pics, and I was still low. Great buck.. 6-7 years old, muy grande scored him at 163 and change. 33+ inches of mass, and long beams.

A lot wider and more mass than the live picture shows. Very nice buck.

You were dead on about body size. It can certainly skew the antler size if you’re not careful.

I would have had him mid 50s in the live pic you posted and probably 160ish in the dirt nap pic.
Not at all surprised he was 163.

Glad you guys don't have issues with ground shrinkage.

The only time that really has happened to me is a long time ago and I was stupid enough to shoot a buck that I looked at too long when he was facing away from me!
