Grossest thing I ever ate was a bear.

Yeah, I used to groove on hog hunting and was wishing they were everywhere. . .
Until about the second time I found a deep hole they'd dug out where I was
running a shredder and dropped a tractor tire down in the hole and like to
have turned over. Luckily I didn't turn over or break anything. Then, there's the
expensive trees I planted, and the field of this or that that looked like a dozen
methheads doing donuts on ATV'S spent all night messing up the hard work.

I just don't have too awful much sympathy for varmints and pests.
I prefer game animals and small game and game birds and livestock
and crops myself.

Bears suck and you don’t want them around, they’ve “Completely” destroyed 3 of my feeders in Oklahoma and I mean like ripped the motor housings off, the motors partially out of the housings, ate part of 1 timer, bent the lids and crushed the barrels. 2 of the battery’s were never seen again either so I guess they enjoy Sulphuric Acid as a bed time snack. To add insult to injury they crapped all over everything.
We had to start hanging feeders out of the trees which sucks in itself due to not being able to use a large capacity feeder anymore.
Their cool to watch on your buddies place but I assure you that you will learn to hate them pretty quick when the start tearing everything up which they will about 45 seconds after they show up..

Probably won't be long before they are a real nuisance all along the Red River area.

Sure hope he doesn't teach the smaller hogs how to do that. LOL.

Electric fence will keep them out, couple of strands of wire or poly. They make backcountry bear fences now.
A few strands will also keep out hogs, low to the ground.

I 200 pound coon could do some damage to a deer feeder. I used hunt black bear in Alaska in my younger years. They are fun to hunt.

They also kill a lot of fawns every year, people dont realize it, if they dont live in bear country.

Buddy of mine had them show up three years back then disappeared and are now back. He hunts just north of Del Rio.

I’ve heard parks and wildlife will help come out to trap/relocate them when they become a nuisance. Might be worth a call.

Traps them? Cause you cant hunt them.

Update: Mama bear got hit by a train. The game warden and biologist were here to pick her up today. Now they want to find the cubs to relocate them.👍

Bear update: I went to check my game camera at 13. When I got there the bear was hung in the hog panel on my feed pen. We called the biologist and I babysat the bear for an hour until he arrived. He gave the bear a tranquilizer shot and a few minutes later we helped get it loaded in his truck. Hopefully the little bear survives.

The bear was reunited with her sister. They are giving them food and water and will released back into the wild soon.
