What is Hornady load data for 250 gr. XTP using power pistol 45 Colt. Standard load range for Ruger vaquero. My book is 50 miles away from current location.

Jason, do you have a recent Hornady reloading manual? I do not but Power Pistol powder is not listed on Hodgdon site as I think that is an alliant powder if I am not mistaken. alliand on their online info does not list higher loads for Ruger, Freedonm Arms or TC handguns, at least that I could find

Yes Alliant Power Pistol. They have a listing for gold dot 250 grain but no XTP. Can not find anything from Hornady online without buying.

I do not. In this case I attempt to find the burn rate on both manufacturers and try to use the max charge for the one listed as a guideline for the one that is not listed. Takes some searching and a note pad though.

Yes Alliant Power Pistol. They have a listing for gold dot 250 grain but no XTP. Can not find anything from Hornady online without buying. That would be close enough. Use the data for the Gold Dot and work your way up, same as always. I've had to create ammo with zero published data. You just have to SAFELY experiment.

From the velocities I see I expect those are for standard colt loads (Not the ruger freedom arms tc) but could be wrong, did find this http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/Powder.aspx?powderid=8Like Fireman said you could start with those and work up, CAREFULLY. I have had to do that many times though with bottle neck rifle cases more than handgun
