Rain came through yesterday morn starting at two. Nothing hard but real steady. It has been dry here and we needed it. Had a 14 foot blade here for three days in the summer and the roads are in better shape than ever. Big Rod ventured out in his mule only to return quickly all soggy. Forgot his keys to the blind.

It was Big Rod, his young, intelligent son (just ask him), Gregorio & frau, klappenbach & frau, meat man, myself and the SIL #3. It drizzled all day long. Could not have come down more perfect, no run off. Everything soft & slippery. We stayed in camp all day, ate like kings, watched a little TV, told stories and all in all had one of the best deer hunting days I remember. Good people is a whole lot of what life is all about. So fortunate here to have somes willing to not only put up with me but to also include me.

Pretty sure they’ll be coming to rattle next weekend. The experience will be different but just as pleasing.

Good times for sure Hud...as we get older it seems you enjoy those kinda days more and more. Really brings things into prospective.

Glad to hear the good rain report neighbor! Was gonna take the wife down for a quail hunt, but rescheduled due to the forecast. Im at the point in life where I’m not mad enough at the critters anymore to get out in inclimate weather to hunt them down. Though I’m pretty sure the dogs would have loved it.

Looks like New Braunfels and San Antone got good rain too. Just starting to clear up here. Hud, sometimes the best part of deer hunting has nothing to do with killing. Glad y'all are having a good time.
