Hey guys mid January I will be going out west to Lemesa on a Sandhill crane hunt.
This will be my first crane hunt!
I’m normally 100% strictly ducks however this year I’m going to try crane hunt.
My shotgun is a Beretta A4 xtreme plus I was curious which shot worked best for y’all?

I’m already figuring a 3.5 load

Any info I may need to know will be greatly appreciated.

No smaller than 2 shot if using steel, I’d recommend bb if your not a great shot.
If using lead because y’all aren’t shooting geese, then 4s.

We sling BB's at Cranes, 3's or 3.5's, both work.

Boss 2.75" 4's or 3's
It's plenty, don't be fooled by those magnum loads

Don’t waste money on bismuth or anything fancy. Go buy a box of 2 3/4 #5 pheasant loads and choke them full.

If you are not shooting geese, turkey loads are absolutely destruction on cranes.
