I have some years ago when I used to like feral hogs. SKS and an AK to a lesser extent

Use it quite a lot. Biggest issue is good ammo, lots of the steel case Russian won't expand well. I have had great luck with Golden Tiger HPBT and the Tula HM3, both have rapidly expanding bullets.

The amazing 300 hammer is the ballistic twin of the 7.62x39 .

Hell yeah I do. I have a bolt action I built in 7.62x39 and I love it. I use it on deer as well out to 200 yds

Golden Tiger is the best steel case "cheap" stuff. Don't pay $2 per round.
Pass the gravy.

Friend of mine says it's his favorite AR round for hogs. Hollow point Academy house brand ammo (Monarch I think) And I've personally zeroed a scope for him. The damn thing kept 3 rounds inside an inch at 100 yards. Absolutely shocked me.

I just got done watching these old men shoot hogs with sub sonic 22’s on YouTube so if they can kill them hogs with the mighty 22 I’d think that 7.62x39 in any flavor bullet will work just fine..

The reason I was asking is since 6.8' be hard to come by, I was considering getting a 39 upper since shells can be found

The 110 gr Varmaggedon load over some H322 does some serious damage.

Anyone use 7.62 x 39 for hog hunting? Absolutely! It's a great hog round and does quite well on deer, too. I built one on an AR platform and it gives me consistent sub-MOA groups of 5 off the bench.

I've killed them with everything from 22 Mag to 30-06.
22 mag, 222, 243, 30-30, 30-06. Maybe others.
Shoot them in the ear or head with rifle.. They don't go anywhere,
Grown Grandsons use stick and string.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
