Has anyone hunted at Colorado bend? What should we prepare for and expect?
Thanks Jason

I’ve hunted there twice, one a youth hunt with my son in 2015 and myself in 2018, awesome park, very thick in most places but there are lots of small open areas throughout. When we hunted, we were divided into groups and a staff member would drive us around the compartment, then leave it to is to decide which area each one wanted to hunt on. My son hunted the compartment which is on the way from the gate/restrooms to Gorman falls, and I hunted the one around the primitive camping area. You can setup a tent or drive a small/medium sized camper, but there are no electric hookups or water at the sites, only composting toilets and a few water faucets in common areas. There are plenty of aoudads but we didn’t see any, they seem to hang around the cliffs. There are plenty of deer and respond well to corn. One of my favorite places to camp and hunt for sure.

Nice deer and I love that park Thanks! And yes, beautiful park and hopefully it will stay “primitive” and not overdeveloped. It gets crazy crowded already.

Thanks Jason One more thing... there are wire box blinds which you can cover with brush, but I can’t really see how you can fit in them , definitely bring a popup blind and you can place it anywhere you want, especially if it rains or for better concealment.

Is anyone else going to Colorado Bend? Have you been able to talk to any of the workers? I can't get them to answer the phone.....

I believe Colorado Bend had a hunt last week. Did anyone go hunting then? If so, can you please provide some pics and/or info?
