I know this is a subjective question. All things being equal..if you had a week to bow hunt .obviously it would be the rut..if you had a choice would you hunt the week of a new moon or full, harvest moon??

well this year full moon is two days before opening day and then again on Halloween. I would watch for a weather temp drop instead. Over the years the third week of Oct been good to me.

That last couple weeks of October can be fantastic, I know a lot of areas the rut is starting to kick off then and I have seen bucks tending does in those last 2 weeks of October. I really like hunting the Quarter moon periods, seems more movement early and late in the when most of us want to be out there especially if it is hot.

Should be better this year for the corn feeder hunters as I'm not seeing bumper crop of acorns but I'm prepared with sets either way.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I killed my biggest buck on a full moon a number of years ago. Then, for the next few years I always saw lots of movement on the full moon and little to nothing on a new moon. I had it figured out, right? I was convinced. I went so far as to specifically schedule my time off during the November full moon. The last few years, my full moon hunting has been blech. Then, on the new moon last year, both my sister and I connected with our Bucks within minutes of each other. Now, I just hunt when I have time to hunt, and don't really look at the moon phases anymore. I like early November in North OK, and all December long in TX (Navarro County)

Hunt the full moon as you normally would and then hunt during lunch time. Lots of time will move from 1100 to 1300, getting a bite to eat after their morning nap.
