Hey THF,

I was lucky enough to get drawn for a hunt in Brazos Bend state park. I was just wondering if anyone had any information they could share with me. Maybe a little about what I should expect from hunting there. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bobby

I've never drawn the hunt but it's a cool park with lots of deer. I dont think I've ever not seen at least a handful of deer when going there with the kids. No clue about the hunting or areas you can go for that, but there are a lot of places with easy access I'd imagine would be part of the hunt area which would give you nice long shooting opportunities. Looks like you're in Houston, so I'd suggest going by during the week and try and speak to a few employees there about any insight for the hunt and areas they regularly see deer.
Find the right employee, and you'll get a world of insight to make the hunt more effective
Congrats

I live within 30 minutes at that area. Good luck.

Sorry for the late response, I hunted there last week. It was a very successful hunt. Ended up taking a big ole hog, an eight point buck and a doe. The park rangers were super accommodating and I was impressed by the stands. The forrest itself is super thick, I had to be quick on the draw. They’re overrun with deer there, didn’t see anyone take any monsters but did see a few mature 8 pointers.

My phone died so I don’t have a picture of the deer I took but here’s the hog! [Linked Image]
