I just wanted to know how Capable they are and if they have known issues or if they were expensive to maintain.

Once you get them in good mechanical shape your pretty much golden. They very seldom have issues and you can do a simple cheap spring over kit to raise them about 4”s and from thr your going where a side by side will go.

Cool that’s what I want. Would you take a keep over one at the same price point and condition? “Hypothetically”

The neatest thing about Samurais are how light they are. Even in 2wd they’ll dang near go anywhere with good tires. They’re like a goat.

Ok I was a little slow lol. That’s an answer depending on the terrain, if I was hunting south/west Tx where it’s pretty open I’d absolutely rather have the Sammy, hunting in or around woods or thicker stuff I prefer the Ranger hands down. I would have to have the 88 and up fuel injected Sammy tho, a spring over kit, —a couple lockers— “Not A Gotta Have“ but their a game changer if you can swing it, good set of mud tires, gear reduction kit eventually and a winch and your pretty much unstoppable. I’ve built them in a bunch of different configurations but what I listed is a heck of a rig. My last one I did a V6 swap, auto tranny with double stick T-Case, Yota axles on 37’s and that thing was scary where it would go but it was simply to big to be a practical hunting rig getting in and out of it so I sold it. If you end up with one and have any questions let me know, I’ve done everything their is to do to one at one time or another.

You can't go wrong with a Samurai, it will go anyplace you want to go. Has a heater and windshield wipers!

That Sammy killed a lot of critters out of the back of it, wasn’t pretty but it would go anywhere.
Never had a machine gun on it but a ton of 50 BMG’s were sent over the roof clap

A friend has one and an older mule -4010 I think. He says the samurai goes more places than the mule will.

I had a 2 door Mitsubishi Montero that dragged me and some of my family every place it was legal to go in Big Bend Natl. Park. The little thing was incredible. I sold it to a local rancher here after it turned 200,000 miles, and he and his wife drive it to this day: 254,000 miles and still chuggin' along. He did tell me that it was starting to burn a little oil. . .
