Bil wants to replace his 300 BO. He lives near Collage Station and has several locations to hunt. This would be for pigs.

Expected shot range? If shots may be over 150 yards I would take the 6.5 Grendel.

I’ve killed a ton of pigs with the Grendel but in this case I’d go with the 350 or the 300 hammer

I like the 350 Legend. I have taken several hogs with it and it has worked great. A side note is ammo is still available at Academy in my area!

I had a 6.5 Grendel and it was okay for pigs. Running 6 ARC now just for grins...but also because 350 Legend won't work with my Deadair Sandman 7.62 suppressor

I'm a fan of the Grendel. I have taken a lot of hogs with one of mine....some of them pretty big ones. I also took two of my deer this last week with a Grendel....and no problems. I use one in a Ruger bolt action and one in an AR platform with a suppressor. Both shoot very good...

I don't always hunt hogs with an AR15 but when I do, I prefer the 6.8 SPC.

I've shot several hogs at 135 yards or with my 350 Legend and it hammers them. My only problem is accuracy, mine is all over the place. Sometimes it can group 5 in an inch and a half other times 7 inches. Usually the 1st shot is several inches out of the group.

No got it from Patriot Arms and Supply via Gunbroker. I even replaced the CMMG Barrel it came with with a Faxon.

Pretty much every Academy I’ve been in recently has had .350 Legend ammo on the shelf. That would make my decision a little easier.

Except for .223/5.56 I'm pretty much a .30cal and up guy.

My 350 with the 170gr Hornady Interlock over a case full of CFEBLK will shoot 1" consistently and kills like lightning.

I read this great quote about the 350 Legend... https://www.gunsandammo.com/editorial/winchester-350-legend-cartridge/359189The overall loaded length of the ammunition I tested for Guns & Ammo measured 2.25 inches, which is identical to the length of the .223 Rem. This makes this a small cartridge ideally suited for hunting hogs and deer. Because as we all know, one of the determining factors for cartridges being suitable for hogs or deer is whether or not it is the same size as the .223 Rem, which BTW, it NOT ideally suited for hunting hogs and deer. So all of y'all hunting deer with a cartridge that won't fit into an AR15 magazine, y'all are all hunting with a non-ideally suited cartridge for hunting hogs and deer. Tom Beckstrand at Guns&Ammo would never steer you wrong.

Love my 6.5 Grendel. I was skeptical at first but it has performed admirably on deer, pigs, and coyotes. It he’s become my go-to AR for day and night hunting. Love it so much I’m thinking about a second upper in same caliber but 12.5 inch barrel.

Looks like you can't get over-pressure with CFEBLK so I guess you stuff as much power in the case as it will hold and seat the bullet to mag length. Do you crimp?

For the sole purpose of hogs (150 yds. and in) I'd likely go with the Legend, but the Grendel is a more versatile cartridge IMO....if one wants/needs to reach out further and/or anticipates using it on other smaller game (Coyote, Bobcat, Skunk, Coon....etc).
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

Mr. Wilson clarified that Grendel isn’t for him - I get that - however outside of Mr. Wilson his “sphere of influence” is quite large and this can translate into many latching on to Grendel not being this or that or not as good as 350 Legend. It’s most unfortunate but Fanboy-ism is real especially in Internet Land. Now that we understand Bill isn’t a fan I’m sure there will be others who vote 350 Legend without having tried it themselves or based on a lack of knowledge and experience. Business is Business (on the Grendel offering) - what I learned new In this thread is Mr. Wilson isn’t a fan of Grendel - good to know !
