 Has anyone been on Forged in Fire?

I am fascinated by watching this show. I am not skilled in making knives, welding, forging or anything else they do on this show, but I love to watch every episode. Seems like most episodes have one person from Texas. I would love to know if any of you have been on the show, or if you watch it what you think about it. Is anyone thinking about going on the program? When I see them make a completed knife in 5 hours that stands up to all those tests, I can only imagine what they could do with more time.

Try and Google knifemakers from Texas that have been on Forged in Fire.  Two from San Antonio.

Try and Google knifemakers from Texas that have been on Forged in Fire. Two from San Antonio. Maybe there are 2 winners from San Antonio, I'm not sure of that statistic, sounds right to me. I watch every episode, there are way more than 2 contestants FROM Texas. many episodes have a competitor from Texas. I am asking the question about people who make knives. If they enjoy the show, or if they have been on it or if they are thinking about going on the show or even if they think it is Bullcrap. I enjoy it but I have no knowledge in the art. I am looking for input from the experts here.

Jason Fry was on there i believe a while back and is a member here...i don't forge, so i watched a few episodes and then kinda quit watching it. I had a guy come to my shop that wanted to learn how to make folders and he won the show a month or 2 ago (Chad Kennedy). I don't know how they do it with the time limit...i can't work that fast!haha

I enjoy seeing how they have a problem and figure out how to overcome it, some pretty amazing thinkers. The ones that don't do well have a hard time adjusting to change.

Tobin Nieto is a past champion, he lives in San Antonio and teaches knifemaking at Reforged.
I am taking a class there in February.
