Best of luck to those lucky drawn folks hunting this weekend. I walked some on the east side(not in hunt area this year) yesterday morning & found a few deer, plus several big rubs. If you decide to take some time out for lunch, check out the snow & ross's geese. Wheat fields are good this year & there's more birds than I've seen in a long time.
Here's a tip if you're hunting Big Mineral. One of the biggest bucks I've seen this year was bedded down at the end of the trail where it turns to dirt, near the train tracks. Riding your bike is the best way to get there, as it's about a 3 mile hike otherwise. Of course, there were several cottonmouths in the same area and it'll be warm the next couple of days.

This young buck was posturing up to the 10pt, but he was smart enough to maintain social distancing.

These are two shots of the same 10pt. Looks like a two year old. Usually bucks appear bigger walking away, but not this time. Maybe the antler shadow effect.

Large flocks of snow geese are something to behold, both the sight & sound. Definitely worth the trip while there are thousands there.

I always enjoy driving through that place each year around Christmas when we visit family.

Pure greatness.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

10 pt is definitely older than 2...pictures don't give the best perspective (although they are great pics!) to get a definitive age...but I would say at least 3.5 and probably 4.5+
