Well I learned a lesson going with a light cross ribbed boat... Be lucky if it makes it through this duck season... So I'm looking for recommendations for a duck boat for next year... would prefer custom built in the Texas area... I'm talking basic plain Jane 3/16 bottom, longitudinal ribs and nothing much else.. probably 16/ 48.... But I'm open to suggestions and hearing what other people have experienced....thanks.

WC Custom....Pete Willet makes a good boat. If not, look at Excel. Their new open floor concept is nice and took out alot of weight of the old F4.

You can search this forum as a number of guys had some boats built this year. My build just started at Uncle J customs out of Morgan City. He has quite the waiting list right now. It took 4.5 months for my build to start and he was quoting 30 week LT before he recently expanded. Not sure what the LTs are now. Pete stopped taking orders earlier this year due to demand, so I would reach out to him to see what the deal is now for next year. A lot of these guys got super busy this summer. There are others out there as well outside of Texas like Gator Tail, Gator Trax, Timber Creek, Prodigy, etc. I'm sure there are a lot more as well. Good luck with whatever direction you go.
