Anyone using Hammer Bullets ?

I’ve been reading about Hammer Bullets. Essentially copper hollow points. They seem to have a good reputation and are gathering a following...…. I’ve read that they are faster by weight compared to lead cores, and need a little more space in the case due to bullet length. I am thinking about trying out the 140gr Hammer and using H380 or H4350.

Rifle: 7X57 Mauser
Barrel: 24” Shilen
Twist: 1:9
Brass: Norma
Primer: CCI BR-2

H4350 Start: 43.5gr Vel: 2500 | Max: 47.0gr Vel: 2707

Thoughts ??

I’m running the .284 Hammer Hunter 131. I found it accurate and easy to find a recipe for. I’m pushing her 3475 fps in a 7mm WBY without pressure signs. Only punched paper so far....no complaints here.

Have VERY good accuracy on my 6.5 Creed using their 124 & 117 Hammers. Haven't killed anything with them yet

I shoot the 177 hammer hunters in a 28 nosler. Easiest bullet i have developed a load for.

Took a cull at 354 yards. Traveled 10 yards.

I just ordered some 140gr for my Mauser. How did you do your load development ? I have looked up the bullet weight equivalent in Barnes and of course looked up references in the usual places like Hodgdon. What was your experience with load workup ?

I used published data for similar design and weight bullets (i.e. Barnes) as a baseline. I loaded rounds in 1/2 grain increments starting at a min load all the way through “max plus”. I chrono’ed each and looked for pressure signs...stopped when I reached my comfort level...
