Sure seeing a lot of them this year. Came a little early and seem to be in bigger numbers.

I remember the first time I saw them I thought someone’s pet escaped. Then I saw a lot more and got curious, so I googled them. Beautiful birds, are you out near Uvalde? Ranch I was at was near there and they were plentiful!

Now that you mention it there does seem to be more than what I normally see in Webb co. also.

Those things are everywhere at our place, but it's nothing new. They sure do love corn.

I had never noticed them in East Texas (VZ County) before - but I've seen quite a few this year...I also thought someone's pet had escaped and had to google them. Cool birds

I first saw them on a day lease in Encinal about 25 years ago. Had never seen one before that.

Long ago in Bee County and when Lee John first came back with his story about seeing this vibrant green feathered creature with purple on his head, we thought he was drunk. It's just that LJ didn't drink (much) We thought he was crazy. He is one of the tightest men I have ever met, but he went and bought a Bird ID book and showed it to us.

One evening in my bowstand in October this year I counted 14 on the ground and in the trees around the corn outside the feed pen. I have seen 10+ multiple times and there is more this year than any year I can remember.

Great photos. I wish they would travel further north.
