Heading back to AZ in the morning for a few days, then turning north for Idaho. Big Mexican feed for lunch today; hard to beat enchiladas, tamales, chalupas, and fajita nachos!! Swung by our favorite BBQ joint and got a little extra pecan smoked brisket and sausage to last for the road trip lunches (yes, I’m no dummy, I did freeze a bunch!) Should tide us over until I can get near an oven or smoker again. Enjoyable trip once again; loaded up on spices, rubs, fresh off the tree lemons and grapefruits. Drove over to fill the catfish pond off the well, and picked up 50# of pecans in an hour while we were waiting before the hogs got ‘em all !!! If y’all just had mountains and elk, it would be as close to Heaven as you could get!

Hope you had some coffee, All of that greatness would cause me to fall asleep at the wheel.

The Davis mountains have a pretty good herd of Elk. With some big Bulls mixed in.

They’re too steep for an old fat guy. Besides, I’d like to be able to see some green grass too. Fought the wind for 500 miles, and made it to Ft. Stockton, man is it dry everywhere. Thinking a couple brisket sandwiches, sausage and beans, and a BlueBell vanilla sundae should put me right to sleep!!! smile
