Any of you guys use these? Which are the best - brightest and good battery life? I have some red lights on rifles, but need a good handheld type.

I got the $100 one from Academy that goes on top of scope...worked well out to 75 - 100 yards.

The two best are made by Foxpro and Coyote Light. From there all others are Chinese made and pretty much the same.

As a matter of fact, there isn't a hunting light made that isn't made in China. Now, if you want the furthest shining light on the market, look at the Sniper Hog Light Coyote Cannon or their 66 LRX. Those are the top 2 furthest shining lights out there. They come in white, green, red, and IR.

I use Fire Fly for scanning and VB250 predator light, scope mounted for kill. With the red lights your optic is an important factor that tends to get overlooked. Dont matter how bright and far that beam throws, if you cant identify with optics. Those demon eyes start glowing with very little light. Ive shot a handful out more than 150 yds, but usually its within 100 at night. The VB250 can id out to 150, or 175 on really dark night. I add hood over end which helps avoid shining yourself, and reduces washout of optics. Comes with 2 batteries that last 4hrs each. For the money i have no compaints. Id caution on getting a gun mounted light only.

I know the Foxpro is made in the US and it says so on the website... now as far as the Coyote Light mine was made in the US but maybe since they moved to Texas they are now Chinese made which would be a shame.

I know the Foxpro is made in the US and it says so on the website... now as far as the Coyote Light mine was made in the US but maybe since they moved to Texas they are now Chinese made which would be a shame. So the facts about the Foxpro Fire Eye is yes, they claim made in the USA but the truth is that the important components are made in China ie the led and batteries. So that being said, the housing may be made in the USA but that's also doubtful. The way that they can claim that they are "Made in USA" is that they may be assembled in the USA. That's 2 totally different things. As far as the FoxPro's new light, the GunFire, you'll notice on their website that they do not make the claim "Made in the USA" They are made in China as are all hunting lights on the market right now. That being said, you need to look at their operating principles. I know for a fact that the Sniper Hog Lights, while their parts are made in China, they are 100% assembled and EACH LIGHT is tested by 1 of 3 different people at their HQ in Victoria, TX. They also have the top 2 furthest, brightest, and most battery efficient (operating hours) lights on the market today in the 66LRX and the Coyote Canon. They are also the most affordable. To the OP, in choosing a light, do your research and get what you think will best fit your budget and what you want out of the light. If you have any questions, hit me up. If I can't answer them, I can get you with who can.

The fox pro fire eye is a good light, so are the older models of coyote light. Foxpro fire eye housings are made in USA, and I believe the internal electronics are as well. Sure the batteries may be made overseas, but Foxpro is as American made as it gets for modern day America. I do believe fox pro made the plunge to go overseas on their new gunfire light. I haven't used it but if I was on the market for a new gun light I would heavily consider it. Right now I use the predator cannon hunting light bar for all my night hunting. I mounted it to my side by side with a computer monitor mount so I can swivel it around and scan pastures. It has adjustable intensity and puts out a wider beam that shines further than any of the gun or hand lights I have ever used. I can easily identify a coyote at over 500 yards and pull off a shot if I had that much confidence lol. I've run sniper hog, gen 1 coyote light, and fire eye. If you want something that will last I would not go for a cheap amazon light. That's just me.

I love mine. Came with a rail mount. It is a little too heavy for gun mount but for hand held like OP asked about it is crazy good.
