When you have only one viable option, you can learn to be good with it, and some are amazing. Some are really normal, however.

A local European style shooting cinema is also a big help with practicing running shots as is a range with moving targets. Practice makes perfect.

you know more people prob hunt hogs on foot now days than from blinds especially with all the NV and thermal. It’s not hard just get out and do it. I’ve killed 5 from a group with 2 different bolt actions, 4 from a group with a pump shotgun and slugs and of coarse many times I’ve killed 3 plus in a group with the AR. They are all very effective if you put in some effort to practice.

A lot (I think) of the German/European hog hunts use 'beaters' to walk through the woods and drive the hogs toward the shooters. It would be difficult to do the same thing here.

You can never have too much ammo unless you're swimming.

One phase of qualifying for my German Hunting License involved shooting a “running boar” target at 50 meters.

In the end, it was worth the effort. I hunted three years over there and had some great times.0

I think most of those are straight pull bolts also.

I may have seen them, where the guys are taking shots with bolt guns as the hogs run across a narrow clear cut in a forest full of trees. They had to aim and shoot in a split second and they hit what they were shooting at more often than not.

Here's something similar in Bulgaria.
