Git er done! This was fun, I had a dozen deer, 3 were bucks chasing 9 doe all around my area. It was hard to keep track of which deer was what. In midst of the chaos I catch a glimpse of another deer coming, it was my buck. He was hesitant to come in, he knew something wasn’t right. He backed up, turned and began trotting away at a slight angle. Due to trees and brush I didn’t have a shot. I knew an opening was coming and by now he was approximately 170 yards away. He got to the opening and he made a fatal mistake. He stopped looking towards me quartering away. That pause was when I squeezed the trigger. I heard the glorious “smack” sound of the bullet hitting my target. He ran maybe 25 yards and I watched him fall. Love the tall rack and mass in his antlers.

Thx everyone. I honestly have no clue on his weight, he had a huge body and took all I had to dead lift him into the bed of my lifted truck. There are some bruisers up there, the property is right along the Red River between Quanah and Childress
