I could go 4.5, but he could be one of those deceptive really old deer, too. Need STX to weigh in here.

Looks like good quality habitat in South Texas, so plenty of groceries for him to browse.

My vote is 2.5 year old, maybe 3.5 at most.

The eyes are round. The older deer have almond shape squinty eyes.

Feet - walks up on his toes. Older deer ankles lose support over time so appear more flat footed with age.

Skull is small and facial skin is tight.

Body on that deer is a thin tight body. Think about 1 deer year equals 10 people years.

This book is very helpful and good reading, well worth the money.

He looks 3 different ages in all 3 pics to me.....3,4, & post mature

Very tough one for me to call without more pics

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Hard to tell from the pics if antlers are outside his ears. Legal?

Knees look good which make me think 3-4. It's hard to hide that on an old deer, but this is one is trickier than most

Not the best angles to judge him by in these pics...but I would call him 5 from them. Knobby and calloused knees and a neckline that starts at the bottom of the brisket then continues to his jaw.. The grey forehead is also showing mature age. If this is a South Texas buck he was still 5 weeks from the rut if the dates are correct.

The rut is 5-6 weeks away if that is in south Texas.
