I dread it. Why? Because I am the only one in the house who loves turkey and dressing. I also like the pies, sides etc. My wife and daughters are "meh" about it. I have done a turkey every which way. Fried, smoked, oven etc.

What's cooking at your casa? Anything I am missing on turkey to sides to appeal their taste better or give the THF gang some better ideas?

Thanks a bunch for asking. I plan to debone my turkey, boil the bone to make my stock, and use the dark meat for a sausage, oyster gumbo.

Wife and I had the what do you want to eat discussion last night?
I said Turkey. mashed potato's with skin on, Giblet gravy (she frowned) Green bean casserole, Cranberry, Pecan pie with whip cream and Blue Bell ice cream!

I don't plan on cutting any calories. I'm also having baked sewer potatoes, with maple sauce topping. Cherry pie and I've cream.

I am not picky, but i do appreciate and enjoy good food.

My family over the years has done turkey(smoked/fried/baked), mexican food, pulled pork, ham, bbq brisket, fish fry... and im sure something else over the years. Personally I don't care what it is at all as long as its good. I do look forward to turkey as its something you don't get throughout the rest of the year. Growing up my mom would stuff chickens and bake them with carrots and potatoes, kind of like mini thanksgiving meal for sunday dinners every once in a while... really miss that.

My mother is making fried chicken for ours and dressing. We are pretty nontraditional when it comes to Thanksgiving traditional foods. One meal is enough to get me through until next year.

I've boned out and roasted turnkeys for the past 25 years. Other than work I haven't roasted a whole bird in this time. Works out great, stocks done and I can fit two birds on the grill at once. Serve with roasted & whipped sweet potatoes.

Last year I deboned my first turkey and stuffed it with a mixture of cream cheese, crabmeat , tiny shrimp and horseradish, then rolled it and tied it with twine. It was great. Slice and serve. Get some dark meat in every slice.
