I own a gun shop, and literally can hunt with whatever.... but the last 10+ years, my go to has been a savage 10 FP in 308. My biggest cheaters are the Remington 750 Carbine that is my four wheeler gun; and the Sig716 DMR that is my sitting in a blind killing a lot of pigs quickly rifle....

Ditto. Bought a 111 in .270 at Wal-Mart along about 1997. It drives tacks. I upgraded the scope a few times, but that is about. Still use it regularly.
