I am trying to get out to childress next weekend but it is looking like the hotels are booked up. Any recommendations on where else I could stay? It will be me and my 2 boys.

Try the Red Roof Inn. Not fancy, but clean and conveniently located.

I have a hard time believing all the hotels are booked, I live here and see no reason for them to be unless there's a rodeo or stock show, neither of which I know of happening but I don't really follow either. Might try the Hotel in Turkey. If you don't mind a tent, you can stay at the Matador WMA, or the Childress ATV park.

I've stayed at the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express; they are both pretty new and clean. Also stayed at the Days Inn about 5 years ago, but it's pretty old compared to the other 2. Did you call the hotels directly? If not, try that. We've had success going that route before.

I typically stay at hampton or holiday inn however they both are booked up. I will call each day and cross my fingers that something opens up.

Yeah that was my thought too if the hotels are all booked up.

If you don't mind a little drive down to Paducah, I like the Hunters Lodge. Not real fancy but it's clean and the folks that run it are real friendly.

I find it hard to believe that everything is booked up. Looks like there's going to be a crowd there this weekend. Get to Dawson's early.

It's the weekend before Thanksgiving, which is a huge travel weekend. Since fewer people are flying, more will be driving.

Red Roof Inn.
Not fancy, not new, but reasonably clean and cheap.
Ice machine always works
Not water is always hot

Just called yesterday to book a room for the weekend...no problem.

Yes, this a nice place but nothing fancy. They keep an old hotel pretty clean and price is fair.
