Just saw a commercial for a Bennelli bolt action rifle. Anybody seen, or bought one yet?
Thoughts?

I'm interested. I like it and the Sako S20. Both are cool designs.

Probably function just fine.... but it takes some getting use to just looking at 'em...... I prefer the more classic lines... and I like their shotguns...

Saw one today but didn’t get to handle it. It looks like it kicks in the 300 mag version I saw

A modern BAR on the "Big Game" rifle. Interesting take down techniques if you look thru the manual

I've been mulling over an S20 since I shot one back in February. The only thing that concerns me is that if it DOESNT catch on, and Sako discontinues it in a couple of years, all that cool modularity doesnt do me any good anymore. as for the Benellis, and R1 is tempting, but I think Id buy a Sako over the LUPO

What do you get (that really makes a difference) for $1700 that you don’t get from $500 or even $1000 competitor rifles?

Do not trifle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

By that logic, all we would have is Ruger Americans and Savage 110s.

You actually get something better from Tikka or Browning rifles for example. The smoothness of the actions, because of the single body bolt design vs the aforementioned, may not contribute to accuracy necessarily but it's an actual feature that some would pay extra for. That said, I totally agree with you in principle. It really comes down to criteria. If performance from the bullet far and away the only criteria, which I don't think is a dumb way to look at it all, then yes Savage and Ruger American. My main rifle is a Savage and I will be paying more for the action specifically for smoothness next time I build, Tikkas and Brownings I'm sure there are others but these are my two favorite recommendations when folks wanna spend a little more for their first rifle.
Hard to imagine this thing is "twice as good" when it's almost twice the price! Furthermore, aren't Tikka, Sako and Bennelli all owned by the same company? This just seems like they're over saturating a market that I'm not sure really is that robust.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I quit going to Cabelas and BP. I'm a Scheels Hoe now,

Got a rifle and scope/mounts inbound

y'all will hate both, so, I'll have to sell them on my other forums

Same company just a little brother

Accurate. They all belong to Beretta Holdings anyways, but Beretta has done a good job pairing Flagship brands like Sako and Benelli with a little more budget-friendly brand (Tikka and Franch, respectively) that still makes a really solid product.
