What have you used to mount? I've seen a few different options by removing rear sight.

Tried the mount and to me it sat to high. Don’t recall the brand I used but it was far from ideal.

G26 Gen4 direct milled, no plate for RMR

G34 MOS, Leupold DPP.

G43x MOS- only two companies make plates, I have one from C&H for the RMRcc

10mm 1911- Currently getting milled; using the Trijicon plate/sight combo and an SRO

Thoughts:
1. If you are gonna run a red dot and your gun isn't an MOS version have it milled for a direct mount if possible.
2. MOS system- glock makes plates but I would likely go aftermarket.
3. Sights-- RMR Type 2, 3.25moa is the gold standard, most common, parts/mounts/etc and most holsters that accept red dots are designed with the RMR in mind. However, the SRO is AWESOME, I think the dot is better, sight window is larger, don't have to remove it to change batteries BUT they are not considered for 'duty' use by some departments because the housing isn't as tough as the RMR (if thats a concern Jaegerwerks makes a casing). But- consider your holster selection and know the SRO uses the same 'footprint' or base as the RMR... BUT the housing for the glass sits higher and much further forward which can impact your holster and iron sight selection.

I highly recommend biting the bullet and having the slide milled. I've never seen a mount the replaced the rear sight that was as strong as a direct-mount, and often they sit too high in my opinion. RMR type 2 w/ suppressor height sights and a direct mount is the way to go IMHO

Then my suggestion would be sell your 43x and buy the mos version. Would probably come out cheaper than having a slide milled and would have the option of different sights

For a 43X I would go with either a RMRcc or a Shield RMSC and have Maple leaf mill the slide.

If ya look around u can find slides if that's what ya want but I'd just get slide milled 150 around here w ceracote
Don't forget the sites as well if you want back ups probably have to run suppressor height
