Sure glad that worked out! Dang lucky to get that one back, everyone makes a bone head move every now and again and I'll bet he doesn't do that again. Glad the rifle was in good shape, the guy in the store said case was banged up but he didn't look at the rifle.

Good that Lynx 19 was there and paying attention with info that led to recovery. Good that the finder brought the rifle in. Lots of good people out there.

My wife and I was talking about this when it happened. We remember multiple times losing diaper bags going somewhere leaving them on the top of the car. No one wants to admit that they get distracted and do something like this. Many times i have laid something on the back of my bumper of the truck and drove off.

Great news. What are the odds. By the way, I left my billfold on top of my wife`s car 3 years ago and it came off on a busy FM road and landed in the middle of the road. I received a phone call from a person who I worked with and bought land from where we were currently building our new home. He told me he had my billfold that his nephew found on FM 108. I did not even know it was gone and it had already been found. This was just another case of incredibly irresponsible handling of a billfold and I`m not even going to tell you my cell phone story. Incredibly irresponsible handling and care of a firearm. I’ve left cups/mugs on top of my car and driven off...but a rifle? So what you are saying is that you have been incredibly irresponsible as well, just with a different item? ^^^^^^ This ^^^^^

THF has done it again. We picked up the rifle from Cross Plains PD this morning and the gun was in near mint condition. My buddy learned a valuable lesson and The moral of the story is that people make mistakes and there are some good people out there. Before you kick a man who is down, might check yourself because you may need somebody to show you grace oneday! That is so awesome!

One of the things he was sick about losing was the Fender Strat guitar I had given him. Next day, volunteer searchers helped him find it buried in the rubble.
